Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he was surprised by Ilkay Gundogan return and insists he is not playing just to wait until the day he retires.

    The 33-year-old was Pep’s first signing when he took charge in 2016 and enjoyed a hugely successful seven years at the club before moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2023.
